Prevention
Abstaining from sexual contact is the only 100% effective way to prevent HIV and STD infections. But if you’re having oral or anal intercourse, latex condoms are 98% effective at preventing transmission of STD’s, including HIV.  However, the only way for condoms to be effective, safe sex must be practiced consistently and correctly. (That means no genital-genital,
oral-genital, or oral-anal contact without a latex barrier!)

Latex Condoms

Latex condoms come in a growing variety of lengths, widths, thicknesses, colors, flavors, textures, shapes and lube options; so shop around and experiment to see which ones work best for you.

Lubricants

Lubricant should be used when you participate in anal sex, it is recommended that you only use water-based or silicone based lubricant. Do not use oil-based lubricants such as baby oil, hand lotion, or Vaseline since they break down the latex and can damage the condom.

Dental Dams
Dental Dams are a FDA approved latex barrier that should be used for any anal-oral contact (rimming) to prevent infection with STD’s including hepatitis.

Finger Condoms

Finger condoms are small latex condoms that fit over your finger and should be used anytime you use your finger for anal contact with your partner.
