How To Use A Condom

1. Start Fresh Every Time

Use a new latex condom for every act of intercourse. Do not use old or brittle condoms. Store condoms in a cool, dry place and check the expiration date. Expired condoms should not be used. If you have been storing a condom in your glove compartment, or anywhere with extreme temperatures for long periods of time, throw them away. Expired or mistreated condoms breakdown overtime making them ineffective as a protective barrier.

2. Take Your Time

Make sure there is still air in the condom package before opening. If there is not air, throw it away: it may have been punctured. Be sure not to rip the condom when you open the packaging and wait until you have an erection to put on the condom. Make sure the condom isn’t inside out.

3. Pinch, Place, Unroll

Pinch the tip while unrolling the condom all the way to the base of the penis (pull the foreskin back if you’re not circumcised). Why pinch the tip? If an air bubble gets caught inside, it could break the condom, and it gives the semen a place to go after you cum (ejaculate).

4. Lube Up

Using plenty of water based lubricant makes it less likely your condom will break and makes it more pleasurable for you and your partner. Put some extra lube on the inside tip, as well as on the outside. If you notice that a condom breaks during intercourse, withdraw from your partner and put on a new condom.

5. Hold on Tight

After you cum, hold onto the base of the condom and pull out of your partner before you lose your erection. Don’t wait; you don’t want the condom or what’s in it to get lost inside your partner.

6. Throw Away

Tie the end and throw the used condom in the trash. Do not flush it down the toilet.
